Design a new store for a large retail unit that the client was moving into, which was five times bigger in size than their previous store.
Challenges
As a result of the client moving to a much bigger store, we needed to plan out estimated quantities, which would require us to increase and decrease certain items in accordance.
Limit wall space and maximise the potential of products by making them appealing and engaging to customers.
Merchandise
The shop redesign and fit had to consider space for some of the following merchandise:
- Cricket items
- Rugby textiles
- Sportswear
- Swimwear
- Footwear
- Hockey equipment
- Tennis equipment
Solution
In order to fill the space correctly with the correct quantity of items, we focused on key areas of the store, which we identified to be rugby & hockey equipment and clothing, along with cricket equipment and clothing, shoes and all other items fitting in around the store.
We wanted to ensure that no areas of the store looked bare, so we placed cricket bats off the walls in freestanding units. To make the most of floor space, we incorporated a cricket/hockey hitting net/area, which took up 6 metres x 3 metres of floor area, as well as ball bins within the store for items such as footballs and rugby balls.
